Barley and wheat- both belong to our daily diet plan and we consume them interchangeably. But do you know the difference between the two? Usually people consider both as similar but No! They actually are different from each other.


Barley is usually harvested in warmer seasons and hence it is harvested in spring time. On the other hand, we have wheat which best thrives in cooler climates so it is harvested at the start of winter.

Preparation


Barley doesn't need any preparation as it can be prepared by washing and cooking -  just like rice. On the other hand wheat is required to be processed and converted into flour before you can cook something with it.


Taste


Well, both have their own taste which is liked by almost all. When it comes to malting, barley tastes better than wheat and is definitely a preferred ingredient.


Wheat has a comparatively weaker taste, so it’s not suitable for a great brew. But when it comes to nutrition, then nothing can beat wheat.
